Artist Statement

As a parent, I am very protective of my children and try to shield them from harm.  Additionally, I attempt to create a peaceful environment in which they can thrive.  My parenthood style is evidenced throughout my work.  For example, the piece titled, “I’ll Protect You” features a mother koala bear cuddling her baby and the piece titled, “You’re Loved!” includes a Canadian goose and gosling. 

Our family lives close to the shores of Georgian Bay and I appreciate the lake’s calming effect which inspires me to create paintings with water features.   To achieve nature’s vivid colours I use a variety of materials including spray paints, inks, markers, acrylic paints and oil paints.
